Het stuk van Bernhardt gaat over verlies van vertrouwen, niet over goud of zilver. Verlies van vertrouwen in de marktwerking, omdat iedere broker min of meer ongestraft afgescheiden klant-vermogens kan gebruiken als onderpand voor eigen gewin.

Er is geen marktwerking, tenminste niet meer dan onder de kandidaten bij interne sollicitaties op een gemeentehuis.
