Germany leaving euro is effectively end of EU because this path will lead to war.
Germany will not print its way out. this is their trauma, not again, no weimar this time.
they will do everything they can to prevent this. It is the French with the fundamental financing problems.
They have hijacked EU for decades. they will pay the highest price ...
we are dealing with the historical repeating german-french conflicts of culture
we should have known, we could have prevented. it is too late for that now.
it is just waiting until the music stops ...
just my 2 cents

Re: Predicting the future...
I do not see it that grim. It's all a matter of the tipping point. Until now politicians in Germany can sell the Euro as a great advantage for Germany. It is a) good for export, b) good for the economy, c) saves 100 billion Euro in hedging costs, d) allows you to pay for a Cappuccino in Amsterdam with the same currency as for a Pizza in Dublin. Isn't it great!
If these non-facts can not be sold anymore (similar to a sausage that isn't fresh anymore but starts to smell badly) then the political strategy will be altered. If Merkel feels that e.g. the street or other factors pressure her and she is about to lose power or something else she (and all the other talk-masters in government) will alter course.
Thus, I am absolutely sure that Germany will not leave the EU but I am not so sure about the Euro. It seems in these times German politics are ready to do everything for the sake of stabilizing the situation.
Greetings.

Ah, what about:
The ECB will be printing money in order to buy everybody's bonds as nobody else will do...

The French had their own hyperinflation, although perhaps they have forgotten already. It's a bit longer ago.
